All about the logo!

So why did we choose a crown and some cat ears as our logo at Flofree Designs? A strange combination? Perhaps. But there is a story!

Dear Flo (‘Flofee’) died at the great age of 20 in October 2022, just as I was embarking on my new learning journey in jewellery-making and design. It seemed fitting for her to represent where I am heading next without her entertaining, subtle, comforting presence.  A ‘velcro’ cat, a mouser, and a very vocal conversationalist, Flo was by my side (or glued to my lap) for all of the ups and downs of my adult life – first house, separation, divorce, new work ventures (and stresses!), singledom, heartbreak, housemoves, marriage….

The crown simply represents my love of anything historical. If my head is stuck in the past somewhere, anywhere from the Wars of the Roses to the Cold War, I’m happy!,
